As-Salt

In the late 19th century As-Salt was the most important town east of the Jordan, a trading hub between Nablus and the desert. Merchants built grand houses of yellow limestone with arched windows, many of which still stand around the Hammam Street market.

In 2021 UNESCO inscribed the town as "The Place of Tolerance and Urban Hospitality". Visit Abu Jaber House museum, climb the stairways between the three hills and taste fresh bread and kunafa in the old souk.
